Dangerous Precedent': Pentagon Now at the Helm of American Foreign Policy

It looks as if the Pentagon has taken over the reins of the US foreign strategy, Canada-based political analyst Oussama El-Mohtar told Sputnik, commenting on the disruption of US-Russian cooperation on Syria. According to El-Mohtar, this is a very dangerous precedent.

It looks as if the White House has yielded its decisions regarding Syria and its US-Russian relationship to the Pentagon until a new administration emerges, Oussama El-Mohtar, a Canada-based political analyst and author, told Sputnik, commenting on Washington's decision to suspend cooperation with Moscow on Syria. Pentagon Throws a Wrench in US-Russian Relations "The disruption, as far as I can see, means one thing: given the disagreement between [Secretary of State] Kerry and the White House, the US administration has yielded its decisions regarding Syria and the overall confrontation with Russia to the Pentagon until a new administration emerges," El-Mohtar noted in his interview with Sputnik.

Hillary Clinton: Destroy Syria for Israel: “The Best Way to Help Israel”

A newly-released Hilary Clinton email confirmed that the Obama administration has deliberately provoked the civil war in Syria as the “best way to help Israel.”

In an indication of her murderous and psychopathic nature, Clinton also wrote that it was the “right thing” to personally threaten Bashar Assad’s family with death.

In the email, released by Wikileaks, then Secretary of State Clinton says that the “best way to help Israel” is to “use force” in Syria to overthrow the government.

The end of the Assad regime would end this dangerous alliance. Israel’s leadership understands well why defeating Assad is now in its interests.

Bringing down Assad would not only be a massive boon to Israel’s security, it would also ease Israel’s understandable fear of losing its nuclear monopoly.

Then, Israel and the United States might be able to develop a common view of when the Iranian program is so dangerous that military action could be warranted.

Clinton goes on to asset that directly threatening Bashar Assad “and his family” with violence is the “right thing” to do:

In short, the White House can ease the tension that has developed with Israel over Iran by doing the right thing in Syria.

With his life and his family at risk, only the threat or use of force will change the Syrian dictator Bashar Assad’s mind.

The email proves—as if any more proof was needed—that the US government has been the main sponsor of the growth of terrorism in the Middle East, and all in order to “protect” Israel............................................’

US-led coalition says Turkish army ‘on its own’ in Iraq as Baghdad calls UNSC meeting

The spokesman for the US-led anti-ISIS coalition has said Turkish ground troops in Iraq are not acting as part of the alliance. Baghdad has called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting, saying Ankara is violating Iraqi sovereignty.
The statement came on Thursday from Col. John Dorrian, who is a spokesman for the Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF), an anti-Islamic State coalition consisting of 65 countries.

Dorrian announced during a briefing in Baghdad that Turkey is operating “on its own” in Iraq, AP quoted him as saying. The coalition position is that every unit “should be here with the coordination or and with the permission of the government of Iraq,” he is also quoted as saying.

Yemeni protesters slam Saudi carnage

More than 140 people were killed and over 525 wounded on Saturday, when the Saudi airstrike hit a community hall in southern Sana’a, where a funeral for the father of Interior Minister Jalal al-Roweishan was being held.

The Saudi missiles tore through the hall with hundreds of body parts left strewn in and outside the building.

The death toll was one of the largest in a single incident since March 2015, when the Riyadh regime began its deadly campaign to crush the Houthis and their allies and restore power to resigned president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Yemen Is Being Starved to Death

A CNN report on Yemen included this incisive quote from Peter Salisbury:

“Basically, policymakers in the West see the world as a giant game of Risk, and they see more value to maintaining their relationship with Saudi Arabia than getting rid of bad PR over Yemen.”

Meanwhile, Yemen’s humanitarian catastrophe is about to get even worse:

With food ships finding it hard to get into Yemen’s ports due to a virtual blockade by the Saudi-led coalition that has backed the government during an 18-month civil war, over half the country’s 28 million people already do not have enough to eat [bold mine-DL], according to the United Nations.

Yemen’s exiled president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, last month ordered the central bank’s headquarters to be moved from the capital Sanaa, controlled by Houthi rebels in the north, to the southern port of Aden, which is held by the government. He also appointed a new governor, a member of his government who has said the bank has no money.

The US and UK, in their enabling of Saudi Arabia to bomb civilians in hospitals and schools with impunity, and starve the country, are complicit in war crimes.
