Kurdish Politician Fouad Massoum Named President Of Iraq

Kurdish politician Fouad Massoum has been named the new president of Iraq following a parliamentary vote.

Massoum, 76, is one of the founders of current President Jalal Talabani's Patriotic Union of Kurdistan party. He is considered a soft-spoken moderate, known for keeping good relations with Sunni and Shiite Arab politicians.

Air Algerie Flight AH5017 crashes with 5 Canadians on board

Burkina Faso's transport minister says five Canadians were among those onboard an Air Algerie flight that officials said disappeared from radar over northern Mali after heavy rains were reported.

The plane was carrying 116 people from Burkina Faso to Algeria's capital, according to the plane's owner and government officials in France and Burkina Faso. Nearly half of the passengers were French.

Funny how when Malaysian Flight 17 went down the media immediately knew it was a missile (just like they immediately knew it was Osama Bin Laden when they were reporting that 9-11 happened, even before the buildings actually collapsed). But for this missing airliner and Malaysian Flight 370, nobody knows that really happened until they find the wreckage (if they do) and conduct an investigation.

So, what does it mean when the news already has cause and culprit as the event happens? Probably the same thing it means when BBC reports the collapse of World Trade Center Building Seven 26 minutes before it actually happens! :)
