Iran complains to UN over US claim
Iran ambassador to the UN forwards a letter of complaint to the world body, voicing outrage over the US allegations of the Islamic Republic's involvement in a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington.
In a letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, the Iranian envoy, Mohammad Khazaei, equaled the allegation with an instance of politically-motivated 'warmongering' by the United States, IRNA reported.
"The Iranian nation seeks a world free from terrorism and considers the current US warmongering and propaganda machine [working] against Iran as a threat not just against Iran but to the peace and stability in the Persian Gulf region," read part of the letter.
Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Ramin Mehmanparast, rejected the accusation, saying such 'ludicrous' claims hinged on the hostile joint stances adopted by the US and Israel against the country.
"These threadbare attitudes, which are based on the age-old and hostile American-Zionist policies, are a ridiculous show in line with certain [instances of] scenario fabrication of divisive ends on the part of the enemies of Islam and the region," he said.
He also condemned all acts of terrorism, adding that Washington was employing the legerdemain to divert attention from the growing domestic protests it was facing.

It appears as though some people are upset with the Islamic Republic of Iran's president's visit to America a few weeks ago. Although some reactionary, hate-filled, hostile forces tried their best to demonize Iran, Islam, and the president during his visit. To their dismay, the president and the issues he presented and defined with clarity and conviction during public and private meetings resonated well with those whose hearts have not been contaminated and diseased with anti-Islam, anti-Islamic Republic, anti-justice for all mankind propaganda. Also, the growing tide of anti-corporate greed is gaining momentum and therefore, some wicked, evil, ruthless people decided to launch another misinformation conspiracy against innocent people, especially Americans who are manipulated by America's pro-zionist media.
The Creator has promised to neutralize and defeat lies and deception. This conspiracy will fall flat on its face just as many others have fallen. Shame on the sick hearts and polluted minds who have sunk to such a debased level.
